Keiry Ordonez

Pre-K Teacher Assistant

Hi! My name is Keiry Ordoñez (Ms.Keiry), an Early Bird Pre-K Teacher Assistant. I’m an aspiring early childhood educator with a big heart for children and a genuine love for helping little ones learn and grow. I’m currently working toward my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education at Queens College, with a minor in Psychology.  I was born and raised in Queens to parents of Guatemalan origin, and my roots have shaped the values I carry today.

Ever since I was young, I’ve felt a natural connection with kids. Their energy, laughter, and curiosity have always drawn me in, and that connection has grown into a true passion for teaching.I believe the early years of a child’s life are some of the most special times filled with growth, wonder, and discovery, and I love being part of that journey. With several years of experience through different programs, I’ve had the joy of supporting children, cheering them on, celebrating their growth, and learning right alongside them.

Kindness, service, and community are values I carry with me. Family is a big part of who I am, and it has shaped the way I show up for others.  I strive to reflect these values in the classroom while encouraging children to adopt them as well. My goal as an educator is to inspire confidence, curiosity, and compassion in every child I meet, both inside and outside the classroom.

I plan to pursue a Master’s in Special Education. Because I have loved ones with special needs, I’ve seen the challenges they face, and it encourages me to learn how to better understand their world so I can be there for them and others with kindness and care.

Outside the classroom, I treasure spending time with my loved ones and enjoy being in nature. In my free time, you’ll often find me sightseeing, taking long walks, or watching sunsets. A life goal of mine is to live with intention, slow down, and appreciate the little moments.
